I'm anal about spelling. I won't deny that. I'm also anal about grammar, I won't deny that too. I'll also point out I'll go in and edit any posts with appalling treatment of both, either or.
I have the power to do so. If I post is *so* horribly written I will also give you a day to edit it, and if it's not edited, I'll delete it. This is more likely to happen as more members join. I will play with your posts people, don't think that I won't. I'm one of nature's editors.
So here's a few tips to help you people with that kind of thing.
1. I, before E, except after C.
2. When a word ends in E, for example Hope, for the verb, you drop the E before adding the ING. For example...
Hope = hoping.
Chase = chasing.
etc.
Grammar.
1. Elipses (...) Please don't throw in anywhere. I know many of you are para rp-ers and use it alot. It's used far too much. People use it wrongly too. The Elipse, is used to indicate the continuation of a spoken word, or thought. EG.
"So I was analysing the data..."
"You'll never guess what happened to me!" Tai said, interuptting Eric.
---
I wonder what the hell this means, Eric thought to himself. Maybe Max is trying...
"Hey Boss!" Tai yelled across the room. "Look what I found!
2. Puncuation. There is more than the comma to use you know children. There the hyphen ( - ) the bracket () the colon ( : ) the semi-colon ( ; ) look at your keyboard! Wow!
Remember, a comma is used to indicate a breath in a sentence. Read your sentences out load before you post, taking a breath where-ever you put a comma. Then you might realise how badly you've abused the poor thing. Or not used it.
They'll be more as I think of them, but I'd hate to think I have to start an ooc thread called:-
English! The Basics and the Correct use of!
