<Ties in with "Fernn's Workshop." set in the Stoneage Base.>
Maxwell was sometime amused at how petty his co-horts were. Pushing open the hatch that opened up in a dumpster in the allyway between towers, Maxwell stood up, pushing aside various debris before letting himself hop out, walk around and slide in through the side entrance to the building. Grinning to himself, allowing the moment of a cheerful chuckle, he began to climb the stairs.
The signal jammer that nestled in his pocket was geared to only interfear with the DPS' camera and surveillence System, Fernn's image would be coming through crystal clear. Up onto the thrid floor and he stood for a moment, head canting and glancing around. It was empty, the hallway, that was. The flats were probably very occupied. For a moment Max contimplated knocking on Eric's door and enquiring about the puppy he gave him, but decided against it.
Tonight was a game of winding up Fernn, petty, stupid, but incredibly amusing and it would pass the time until Nathan got his arse away from wheoever was shafting it. Turning to a potted plant, Max crouched in front of it, waving in a very friendly fashion with a blank expression.
"Hello Fernn." He whispered, knowing the boy was watching and listening, probably cursing the day he'd ever joined up with Stoneage. Hand reached in and pulled the tiny camera from the stalk of the plant, crushing it between thumb and forefinger.
Twisting around Max eyed the ceiling. Fernn had told him how it was all done, how the little devices drew their power from the electrical mains that flowed through the building. Then then returned their signal to...Ah yes, a box round about...
Aw fuck it. Maxwell hauled one semi-automatic from it's holster, cocked it with his other hand, aimed and...
Blew an electrical cable in the cieling. Of course, in such a confined space the sound would ricotche, echoing back and forth and pounding no doubt through the inadequate soundproofing of the indivdual apartments.
Loosing off another shot and severing several lines, Maxwell went along the theory that if he blew up enough bits, something would break and something would have to be done. Ok, so it was a full view affair, and ok, it would be all over the news and Fernn wouldn't be able to touch this tower for months...
But it passed the time. Just like getting Nate and Kaida to chase Cinderella.
Moving over to the elevator, after having left several holes in the cieling at key power points, as the hallway's lights flickered into death, he reached for the panel above that, curled fingers behind the plastic facade and tore it apart. Hands reached in and ripped apart the wires there, before he moved into elevator two, and retreived an already broken tiny camera that was piggy backing on the DPS' large and obvious one.
With another chuckle turned to leave the building, pausing to wave at another one of Fernn's hidden cameras in the stairwell. Just in case it was working. Very unlikely it was, however.
